Every dream needs to be fed. Every business to grow an injection of resources is required, to get something out a situation you must invest something. If you do not feed into your dream, it will either not grow and/or eventually die. Humans cannot survive for very long time without eating (more than 2 months) or face stunted growth and health complications when they do not eat or feed properly. Inside you as a Christian is something that needs constant nutrition, nourishment to help you develop strong spiritual bones, strong immune system to fight diseases such as fear and worry when they attack you. Medical Doctors advice eating healthy foods regularly can help ward off nearly all types of illness.
A Christian cannot grow without feeding and drinking in Christ. This feeding is something that needs to be done daily going through the whole day without taking any food affects your productivity. You are not able to function at your best or optimum, what you had for dinner a week ago will not sustain you today or give you strength to go about the day’s work.
Let’s go to some scripture John 6:53-58, ‘’Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 “For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. 56 “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 “As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58 “This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate the manna and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.” Christ here tells us to feed on Him so that we may not die, so that we may not fall to diseases that may attack us, that we may have life to the fullest. There is no other food other than Christ that a believer needs to survive. Nobody can feed on Jesus on behalf of you, neither will last week dinner be of any good today. It’s a personal initiative that you must take.
So, what is to feed on Christ? In the book of John 1 the word of god says, ‘’In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God’’ (verse 1)…. Then jump to verse 14.. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth…..Then to verse 16-17…For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.[d] 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. TO FEED ON CHRIST’S FLESH MEANS TO READ, TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD. You need to read your bible on a daily basis because it’s the source of your life, your power as a Christian. Sunday’s sermon is not good enough, every day every minute of your life in Christ is a sermon being preached, make sure you carry the word around, in your heart, in your mouth , in your pocket .
Faith is the name of the game, faith is the currency of the Kingdom, in our Kingdom you buy a house with faith not with money not through your job or through a bank, it’s by faith. Faith is at the center of our walk with Christ and ‘’So faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ’’ (Romans 10:17). Please note hearing as in a continuous process not a one-time process. Study the word, put it to heart do as it says ‘’ Keep this Book of the Law (Bible) always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful (Joshua1:8). Find time in your schedule you think is so busy, to study the word in fact prioritize God in everything you do. I can see something awakening inside you, I can spiritual growth, I can see a better you a transformed you, full of the Holy Spirit if you could only make the choice right now to eat of the ‘’Word’’. Nobody can do it for you, nobody can force you , it’s a choice you have to make .Do not be like the other disciples in John 6 from verse 59 who could not understand, who were offended by but what Jesus had taught them but be like the 12 disciples who knew in Jesus is life , Amen.
